Photos, filming & social media

Version 1.1Applies to everyoneUpdated 15 October 2026

In shortWe only show your photo, or your child’s, where you have said yes in the app, and you can change your mind at any time. Never film or photograph other people without their permission.

This policy explains how Horsham Mixed Martial Arts Academy Limited, which runs SWBJJ, The Farm, Horsham Muay Thai, K-Cal Café and Yin Yoga with Lydia, uses photos and video, and what we ask of members.

Your choices

Your profile in the app has two separate photo consents, which you can change at any time:

  • Inside the academy: your photo on your profile, in the app and on the gym screens.
  • Public: photos or videos of you on our website and social media.

Without consent we use your avatar instead of a photo, and leave you out of anything we publish. For a child, only their parent or guardian can give or withdraw consent.

Children

  • Children appear on gym screens by first name only, and never with a photo unless their parent has consented.
  • We never publish a child’s full name, school or anything that could identify where they can be found.
  • Photos are never taken in changing rooms or toilets.

When we take photos or film

Our coaches and staff may take photos or film at classes, gradings and events, using academy devices or the academy accounts. We only publish photos or video in which you can be recognised if you have given public consent. In group shots we crop or blur anyone without it. If you do not want to be photographed on a particular day, tell the coach.

At public events such as competitions and open days, other people may take photos that we cannot control.

Changing your mind

If you withdraw consent, we stop using your photo in the app and on the screens straight away, and remove it from our website and social media accounts as soon as we can. We cannot recall printed material or posts other people have already shared.

Members filming and posting

  • Do not film or photograph anyone without their permission, and for a child, their parent’s permission.
  • Never use a phone or camera in the changing rooms or toilets.
  • You may film your own drilling for your own use when your partner agrees. Do not post anyone else online without their permission.
  • Do not film, photograph or record the screens in the building, including the Mat Cam’s live view of the mats. What they show remains the property of Horsham Mixed Martial Arts Academy Limited and is for people in the building only.
  • Breaking these rules is a breach of the club rules.
